Description
Objective
- This award recognizes a senior level executive who demonstrates commitment to security management education, certification, and standards and guidelines for the executive management level of the security discipline in a given enterprise.
Eligibility
- Nominee must be a current ASIS member in good standing.
- Senior Level Executive - A qualifying individual is the highest-level professional in the organization, or a senior level direct report to the CSO or the individual who is the most senior level individual responsible for security in an organization.
- Preferred consideration will be given to CSO Center members.
Nominations
- Nominations may be submitted by any member in good standing, to include self-nominations.
- Nominations will only be evaluated for performance during the award year, defined as the previous calendar year (January to December).
- All nominations must be submitted via the online awards management platform by the publicized annual deadline.
Criteria
- Commitment to Security Management Education
- Individual must demonstrate a commitment to continued education, training and thought leadership. This includes, but is not limited to, presenting in security programs, attending and/or presenting at GSX and CSO Summit, encouraging staff to attend ASIS and industry education programs, authoring white papers and other publications on executive level security topics.
- Commitment to certification
- Individual must demonstrate commitment to certifications in the security field.
- Should be qualified to take either of the following ASIS International certification tests: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) and/or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). Preferred consideration given to those that have achieved their CPP, PSP and/or PCI certification.
- Should be an active proponent of certification including, but not limited to, encouraging peers and staff members to be certified at their appropriate level.
- Individual must demonstrate commitment to certifications in the security field.
- Demonstrates knowledge, promotion and implementation of ASIS standards and guidelines
- Individual should have a track record in their organization (past and/or current) or progress being made in implementing standards, guidelines and best practices.
- A dedicated volunteer or leader in the security field
- Individual should demonstrate experience serving in a voluntary capacity in ASIS or other volunteer roles in the security industry. Preferred consideration will be given to those with ASIS focused volunteer roles.
Evaluation and Selection
- A Selection Committee or panel will evaluate the nominees based on the established criteria and identify one (1) winner.
- The Selection Committee may opt not to select a winner in any given award year if there are no suitable nominations.
- The Selection Committee relies solely on the information provided in the nominations.
- Notifications will be issued via the online awards management platform.
Award and Recognition
- The award recipient will be formally recognized at the annual Global Security Exchange.
- The award recipient will receive an engraved award, digital promotional graphics, complimentary All-Access Pass registration to the award year’s Global Security Exchange, and three (3) nights of complimentary hotel accommodation (to be determined by ASIS International).
- The award recipient will be featured in ASIS marketing and communications vehicles.
