Description

Objective

  1. The NextGen of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding NextGen member who demonstrates exceptional commitment and contributions to ASIS International and the security profession.

Eligibility

  1. Nominee must be a current ASIS member in good standing.
  2. Nominee must be under age 40 at the time of nomination.
  3. Nominee cannot be a past recipient of the award.
  4. Nominees not selected may be re-nominated in any following year.
  5. Members of the ASIS Global Board of Directors and ASIS Awards Committee are ineligible.

Nominations

  1. Nominations may be submitted by any member in good standing, to include self-nominations.
  2. All nominations must be submitted via the online awards management platform by the publicized annual deadline.

Criteria

  1. ASIS Impact
    1. Demonstrates significant contributions to ASIS programs, initiatives, or committees.
    2. Plays a key role in advancing the mission, goals, or strategic objectives of the association.
  2. Leadership and Initiative
    1. Exhibits leadership qualities in volunteer roles, such as chairing chapters/committees, mentoring other members, or leading special projects.
    2. Shows innovation and initiative in improving processes, programs, or engagement efforts.
  3. Commitment to Professional Development and Service
    1. Actively engages in professional development opportunities, including continuing education, training, and ASIS certification
    2. Demonstrates a strong commitment to giving back to the professional community through mentorship, knowledge sharing, or advocacy.
  4. Positive Influence and Collaboration
    1. Fosters collaboration and teamwork within the association and among peers
    2. Serves as an ambassador for ASIS, promoting engagement and membership growth.

Evaluation and Selection

  1. A Selection Committee or panel will evaluate the nominees based on the established criteria and identify one (1) winner.
  2. The Selection Committee may opt not to select a winner in any given award year if there are no suitable nominations.
  3. The Selection Committee relies solely on the information provided in the nominations and may not consider any outside or personal information.
  4. Notifications will be issued via the online awards management platform.

Award and Recognition

  1. The award recipient will be formally recognized at the annual Global Security Exchange.
  2. The award recipient will receive an engraved award, digital promotional graphics, complimentary All-Access Pass registration to the award year’s Global Security Exchange, and three (3) nights of complimentary hotel accommodation (to be determined by ASIS International).
  3. The award recipient will be featured in ASIS marketing and communications vehicles.
