Outstanding New/Revitalized Chapter Award

Description

Objective

  1. This award recognizes a new or revitalized chapter for outstanding motivation, excellence, and service.

Eligibility

  1. "New" chapters must be active for a minimum of one (1) year and a maximum of five (5) years.
  2. "Revitalized" chapters must demonstrate progress after a minimum of one year experiencing the following:
    1. Has fewer than 15 members, or
    2. Has held no election of officers for 12 months, or
    3. Has held no meetings for 12 months, or
    4. Has not submitted reports for the year or has consistently submitted inadequate reports, or
    5. Has no signs of activity.
  3. No chapter may receive the award in consecutive years.
  4. Unsuccessful nominees may reapply in any following year.

Nominations

  1. Nominations may be submitted by any ASIS member in good standing.
  2. Nominations will only be evaluated for performance during the award year, defined as the previous calendar year (January to December).
  3. All nominations must be submitted via the online awards management platform by the publicized annual deadline.

Criteria

  1. Membership Growth
    1. Demonstrates notable growth in membership numbers or active participation during the award year.
  2. Events and Engagement
    1. Hosts regular events to engage members, foster a sense of community, and provide professional development opportunities.
  3. Communication and Transparency
    1. Communicates regularly with members, keeping them informed about chapter activities, opportunities, and decisions.
  4. Succession Planning and Sustainability
    1. Develops plans or initiatives to mentor new leaders and ensure the sustainability and longevity of the chapter.

Evaluation and Selection

  1. A Selection Committee will evaluate the nominees based on the established criteria to determine the winners.
  2. The Selection Committee will rely solely on the information provided in the nomination.
  3. Only one winner may be selected in any award year.
  4. The Selection Committee may opt not to select a winner if there are no deserving nominations.
  5. Notifications will be issued via the online awards management platform.

Recognition and Award

  1. Award recipients are formally recognized for their excellence and achievements at the annual Global Security Exchange.
  2. The award recipient will be provided with digital promotional graphics and a complimentary GSX All-Access Pass registration.
  3. Award recipients will be featured throughout the year in ASIS promotions and communications.
