Description

Objective

The Organizational Award of Merit recognizes an organization displaying outstanding leadership and commitment to professional development of their own security professionals through certification.

Eligibility

  1. Organizations that have made significant contributions toward the advancement of the ASIS certification programs within the past 3 years.
    • An "organization" is defined as a commercial enterprise, department within a firm, department, or agency in government.
  2. Organizations employing a current member serving in a role as either a member of the ASIS Global Board or Regional Board of Directors, Ex-Officio Boards, or a Regional Vice President (SRVP, RVP, or ARVP) are not eligible, unless the nomination is approved by the PCB directly. Organizations employing current directors of the PCB are not eligible for this award in any circumstance.
  3. ASIS Chapters/Communities and committees are excluded from this award.

Nominations

  1. Nominations may be submitted by any member in good standing..
  2. Nominations will only be evaluated for performance during the award year, defined as the previous calendar year (January to December).
  3. All nominations must be submitted via the online awards management platform by the publicized annual deadline.
  4. Nominations received after the submission deadline will be rejected and will require a new submission the following year.

Criteria

Contributions may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Implements the CPP, PCI, PSP, or APP designation as a prerequisite (or standard) for security professionals in their firms.
  2. Commits to certifying existing security staff across an organization.
  3. Provides recognition for the value of security certification across their organizations by developing, promoting, and supporting the CPP, PCI, PSP, and APP designations internally.
  4. Significant documentation in support for employee ASIS certification, and employee leadership positions on the local, regional, national, or international levels; Professional Certification Board initiatives (e.g., item writing, certification, test audits, or other content contributions).

Evaluation and Selection

  1. A Selection Committee or panel will evaluate the nominees based on the established criteria and identify one (1) winner.
  2. The Selection Committee may opt not to select a winner in any given award year if there are no suitable nominations.
  3. The Selection Committee relies solely on the information provided in the nominations.
  4. Notifications will be issued via the online awards management platform.

Award and Recognition

  1. The award recipient will be formally recognized for their excellence and achievements at the annual Global Security Exchange.
  2. The award recipient will be provided with digital promotional graphics and a complimentary GSX All-Access Pass registration.
  3. The award recipient will be featured throughout the year in ASIS promotions and communications.
