Description

Objective

This award recognizes an individual most deserving of recognition for service rendered to the advancement and promotion of the ASIS Certification designations of CPP, PCI, PSP, and APP, in which they have displayed outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession.

Eligibility

  1. Nominee must be a current ASIS member and a current CPP, PCI, PSP, or APP in good standing.
  2. An unsuccessful nominee may be re-nominated in any following year.
  3. Certain individuals holding elevated positions within ASIS International are ineligible to be nominated for any award, including current members of the ASIS Global Board of Directors (past or present), current members of the ASIS Awards Committee, and current members of the Professional Certification Board.

Nominations

  1. Nominations may be submitted by any member in good standing, to include self-nominations.
  2. Nominations will only be evaluated for performance during the award year, defined as the previous calendar year (January to December).
  3. All nominations must be submitted via the online awards management platform by the publicized annual deadline.
  4. Nominations received after the submission deadline will be rejected and will require a new submission the following year.

Criteria

Nominee must have made significant contributions to the advancement of the specified security designations on the local, national, or international level. Contributions may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Increasing the awareness of, and the pursuit of, professional certification among security practitioners
  2. Creating awareness, recognized value, and credibility of the CPP, PCI, PSP, and/or APP designation outside the security profession
  3. Contributing significantly to the quality of a chapter or regional certification study program through such activities as (but not limited to) distinguished service as a Chapter Certification representative or leader in the development of chapter study material or educational tools
  4. Significant documentation showing support for employee ASIS certification, leadership positions on the local, regional, national, or international levels, and Professional Certification Board initiatives (e.g., item writing, certification, test audits, or other content contributions)
  5. Prior contributions as a PCB Director may be one of the factors used in considering a candidate for the award
  6. All contributions must have been implemented between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2024.

Evaluation and Selection

  1. A Selection Committee or panel will evaluate the nominees based on the established criteria and identify one (1) winner.
  2. The Selection Committee may opt not to select a winner in any given award year if there are no suitable nominations.
  3. The Selection Committee relies solely on the information provided in the nominations.
  4. The Selection Committee may invite nominees to be interviewed. Nominees will be notified via email if they are selected for a virtual interview. 
  5. Notifications will be issued via the online awards management platform.

Award and Recognition

  1. The award recipient will be formally recognized at the annual Global Security Exchange.
  2. The award recipient will receive an engraved award, digital promotional graphics, complimentary All-Access Pass registration to the award year’s Global Security Exchange, and three (3) nights of complimentary hotel accommodation (to be determined by ASIS International).
  3. The award recipient will be featured in ASIS marketing and communications vehicles.
